Safe Routes to School

Plan Update

Safe Routes to School is a plan to make it safer to get to-and-from Cheyenne schools and to encourage more students and staff to walk, roll, and bike.

The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization and Laramie County School District is conducting an update to the existing Safe Routes to School Plan which is anticipated to extend through Fall 2024.

In 2023 to 2024, barriers to students safely accessing school by walking, rolling, and biking were identified through community engagement, through a survey of principals, and through school visits by project staff.

It was nice talking with you at the open houses!

We’d like to share the draft Safe Routes to School Plan with you and hear your feedback. Join us for an open house to learn about the recommendations and take part in activities to help complete the plan. Bring the students! Bring the family! We’ll bring the snacks.
