Van Buren Ave Corridor Plan
Summary of Project
The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is conducting a planning study to create a new plan for the future of Van Buren Avenue between Dell Range Boulevard and US-30 (Lincolnway). Y2 Consultants is conducting the study on behalf of the MPO, the City of Cheyenne, Laramie County, and other agencies.
The existing Van Buren streetscape is a mix of old and new facilities in various states of repair. Some sections lack curb, gutter, or sidewalk, while in other locations the pavement is worn out or concrete drains are cracked, drainage is poor, or sidewalks are broken and heaving. Rapid development on the east side of Cheyenne makes this the right time to address these issues and plan the future streetscape. The Van Buren Avenue Corridor Plan will help guide future safety and design improvements and budget decisions along the corridor.
