Safe Streets for All

Established in 2016, Safe Streets Cheyenne is an initiative to promote—you guessed it!—safer streets.

By re-familiarizing cyclists, drivers and pedestrians alike with the rules of the road, we hope to reduce the amount of accidents in the capital city and increase the safety of our roadways for everyone who travels them.

Complete Streets

A complete street, as defined by the National Complete Streets Coalition (NCSC), is a street where the entire right-of-way is planned, designed, and operated for all modes of transportation and all users regardless of age or ability. Pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and motorists of all ages and abilities must be able to safely move along and across a Complete Street.

Roundabouting: How to Guide

We’ll just say it outright: roundabout are a little bit wierd. But thier benefits – including less severe crashes, shorter delays and smoother traffic flow – far outweigh the wierdness.

Crosswalk Safety: Starts with YOU

Whether you’re a driver or a pedestrian, you play an important role in keeping our community’s crosswalks safe – and the choices you make have a major impact on the safety of yourself and those around you.

Hey Riders! We See You!

Making sure you’re visible is just one way to keep yourself safe as you pedal around Cheyenne.  Add in a few super-easy extra safety measures, and you’re helping make the roads a happier place for all drivers involved.

Let’s work together to reverse the trend and make the roads safe for everyone.
