Missile Drive Corridor Plan

Summary of Project
The Missile Drive Corridor stretches from Interstate 25 to Lincolnway. Potential designs of the corridor and enhancements that are being studied include:
- Sidewalks and what the road’s median should look like
- What is the best plan for the 19th and 20th Street intersections with Missile Drive
- What Drainage improvements could be made
- What improvements and continuation of the Greater Cheyenne Greenway could be made in the area
Planners also will look at the land use character of the area. Will it remain a combination of residential and businesses or will it become all business at some point? How the corridors fits in with PlanCheyenne and the city’s zoning regulations will also be considered. Also, what is the future for Old Happy Jack Road and the old Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tunnels?
Many consider Missile Drive as an important gateway to the downtown area from the interstate. Public comments will be tallied and if there is a resounding need for change, planners will consider it as the corridor plan evolves.
The final design and construction on the project will move forward once city officials have identified a funding source and if the project moves high enough on the city’s transportation priority list
